Vicki Yeakel Brannon

July 14, 1951 - November 16, 2005

In later years, Vicki was known as Allegra Weaver. This is from her sister, Lisa...

There really isn’t an easy answer to why she changed her name. I know Allegra means happiness and that was probably what she was searching for and she considered herself a weaver (she made fabric on a loom) so she just put the two together. It was a way to separate herself from the past, I’d imagine. It was difficult for me at first but I must say that in the years since, I’ve met quite a few people who’ve taken on a new first name. Guess it isn’t as unusual as I thought….
